SPAMMING

What is it?

"The abuse of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited bulk messages, which are generally undesired."

Please stop gathering the email addresses of unsuspecting buyers from my site.

As privacy is an important thing to me, if I receive anymore complaints from my buyers of spam, from which they think that their email addresses were stolen from here..

Your email address will be put on display on the top for all to view.

It does not matter if you put:

"Apologies if this email was sent without anyone's consent, please notify me and I'll take you off immediately"

or

"If anyone doesn't want to be on the mailing list, please let me know!"

The fact still remains, first and foremost, that you have sent an email without someone's permission, which is not only irritating, but most unethical.

It doesn't matter if some people actually don't mind, it's the fact that some people do mind.

Be Responsible, Stop Spamming... Kindly get your buyers the less annoying way.

*UPDATE*

Contact theft (e.g. stealing my friends in my profile) is also NO WAY to get loyal buyers. If I find out you've been doing so... you really don't want to make me angry. Really.

Isn't it just so irritating? Sigh... I really don't wanna know about the latest imported clothes, or the latest designs that someone has, unless it's really truly special, but if it is, those people shouldn't be spamming anyway, buyers will come if they offer unique items. =(

I'm not sure, but did I receive a recent email from you? Very sorry if I didn't reply, I'm so super busy that it's giving me a headache heh.

unfortunate LJ doesnt have a feature that allows us posters to hide the contents so only the owner of the LJ can read it. it would totally eliminate spamming.

hmmm.. i think there's always screening of comments :)

if a person sends the first email, but indicated
"If anyone doesn't want to be on the mailing list, please let me know!"

i feel that it's really ok.
everyone's just trying to let people know about their work or stuffs.
no harm just taking a look. if u're really not interested, then just politely reply to take yourself off the mailing list. as simple as that.

afterall they're still people like all of us. doing work, earning living etc.. so be nice :)

if even after 2 times of replying, the mails still come, then that's really spam!

I'm sorry dear, but I'm afraid I share the same view as sgselltrade:

As mentioned, just one mass email is also considered spam.

They have also posted up a post before, where they have mentioned it also doesn't matter if an offender gives people the option to opt out of the list, as long as they already sent out something without people's consent.

I cannot just be nice to those people, as if, let's say, 10 people want to advertise their sites and spam with one mass email each, and each say to "please let me know if you don't want to be on the mailing list", it's really wasting my time to email and cancel 10 subscriptions I've never wanted in the first place. =(

If they want to advertise, I believe that they are aware that they should do it the right, responsible way, by posting on sgselltrade, word of mouth, uploading to all the various online blog directories.

I know that you don't mind, it's awfully nice of you, but unfortunately, I do, and I'm sure quite a few of my buyers would agree with me, or they wouldn't be complaining to me.

yes i totally agree. i just replied to one asking where she got my email address from and she said from livejournal, then she had the cheek to ask me to check out her site anyway since there was no harm in it. that may be true but it was still very annoying. sigh.

Is really annoying & wasting of time to reply back and let these ppl know. Especially recently got so many virus/ spywares which you won't know where you will get them even you have anti-virus protection.
Then my friend taught me to block all these annoying email addresses, so that i would not receive these annoying mails anymore.

I also got a few emails from unknown ppl asking me to check out their new stuffs and keep sending me their updates when i did not even asked to me on their mailing list. It so rude to spam my inbox without my permission.

i gt spammed then when i told the girl off, she said she was merely gathering emails of pple who might be interested.

And had the cheek to scold me. Really idiotic.

i also kena the spamming. I got so irritated by 3 continuously sent to me by different users of course. I even email them to get me off from their friends list, but they didnt reply.

Hi there! I'm so sorry for the late reply. While I cannot be sure when someone in SG takes up wiring techniques similar to mine got inspiration from me, I can be sure that I was the first to develop the wiring styles of mine. However, as long as a person just draws inspiration from me, and not bluntly copies, I am alright with it. Art is, after all, to be reinvented and put to new heights always.

why not try screening your comments, there is an option for it just right above the button where you publish your entry.

and yes, i even had to argue to get out of the 'forced' mailing list. totally annoying. they never give up, i just marked them as spam and sent all the mails to junk.
